Mª Carmen Molina García García: What more can I ask for?

I’ll merge with the ground and be part of this magnificent Campo de Montiel that I love so much. I’ll become the landscape,  I’ll be Campo de Montiel…

I haven’t had such an unhappy ending, I’ve fallen on the soft damp ground at the foot of the olive tree that saw me being born, and above all, without violence, without sticks or vibrations, calmly and by my own weight, plump and dark, ripe and aromatic, roundish, and happy, especially happy to be able to finish my days in these fields, hidden behind the tree trunk, surrounded by leaves and good, very good company.

They have forgotten me and now I can only wait and see how I die inside and disappear, but where better than here…? I value the silence of this countryside, its brown earth and its grey winter sky, the green of the leaves and the aroma of the rain.

They have left me,  but I’m not complaining, I won’t become oil, I’ll become earth, I’ll become the countryside, I’ll waste away, just leaving the stone, but content because I’ll leave thinking that nobody will press, burst or stand on me. I’ll merge with the ground and be part of this Campo de Montiel that I love so much. I’ll become the landscape, I’ll be Campo de Montiel….

What more can I ask for?
